🇵🇹Add-on and EXTRA days in Portugal - yay!
Hi ALL!!!
We are still in Porto - (in case you haven’t yet heard!)
~ our flight was cancelled due to mechanical issues yesterday….
After a very looooooong day in the airport - we had gotten dropped off by Viking at 9:30 am and waited to board for our 12:30 call - which moved to 2:30 and then the rest is history
~it took us 3+ hours to re-emigrate and 6 hrs to actually get our luggage back & then to find a place to lodge - a hotel was suggested by the United counter girls & of course we lucked out BIG TIME and got put UP in an incredibly historic boutique hotel: THE Heritage Palace - in the heart of the city in an old Visconte’s home - completely restored - Heritage Palace
I feel like I’m sleeping in a movie set -
we opted to NOT rush - and stay ….
That’s and that to me is how to ….when faced with obstacles, you know?
We will be reimbursed for the hotel & flight changes & food (thank God we buy the Allianz insurance) they were a big help -
~but Viking really took on the brunt of the burden of assisting us & planning & have been 💯 amazing - they’re going to reach out again today to check in on us -
Viking is such an incredible outfit… even better than working with the airlines directly!!!
so John & I are heading out to enJOY another full day & evening in Porto! Ta Ta!
