In 2018, I initiated a conversation with my fellow council members to discuss upgrading one of Howell’s crown jewels known as Solider Memorial park. This facility was built back in the early 2000’s and is the largest park in Howell. One of the issues back then was the inability to build permanent restrooms and provide lights for the fields. So much has changed since then and it’s time to upgrade. I re-initiated talks and had one of our engineer consultants present concept plans for this park. At first, it seemed cost prohibitive but it was important that we continue to explore all options.
As an athlete, coach and sports mom, I know how important facilities are to the players, coaches , families and fans.
