Last year, we introduced our new AECC logo featuring four young people who represented the Alex Eligh Community Center through sports, leadership, and community involvement.

Each year, we’ll update our logo to recognize young people who have gone above and beyond in representing the AECC and our community.

This year, we’re proud to recognize three of our youth staff: TJ, Nico, and Dri. Over the past year, they have coached, led, supported younger youth, and represented the AECC with pride including during a major community announcement.

As they enter their senior year, we’re excited to see them continue to lead and make an impact.

Congratulations, TJ, Nico, and Dri! We’re proud to have you represent the AECC. Also, thank you to Josh Washburn on creating another great logo for us!

☀️ Summer is winding down! This past weekend, we wrapped up our final Family Fitness Day, officially concluding our summer sports programming. Next week brings the grand finale of our Full-Day Program!

It’s been an incredible summer filled with activities that kept young people connected, active, and building community, with programming offered all seven days of the week!

🏕️ Summer Programs: Park Program & Full-Day Summer Program provided fun activities, field trips, and more throughout the week.

🏀 Sports: Kick for All Kickball, Summer Track & Field, All-Star Baseball & Softball, and Summer Rec. Basketball brought plenty of action and great memories.

💪🏾 Family Fitness & Adult Self Defense: Kept both youth and adults active and moving on the weekends.

🎤 Leadership Camp: Offered students volunteer hours while developing skills to apply to their future.

🕚 Extended Student Hours: Provided additional opportunities for young people to have a safe space throughout the summer.

🎉 Fun Fridays: Gave families free activities every Friday in July, bringing fun closer to home.

A huge thank you to our team for making this summer happen and helping create memories for our youth and families we serve!

Wayne County Wizards?! Has a ring to it. Sodus got the win this year, but the entertainment was off the charts. Thank you to all participants for making a memorable summer memory and thank you to our friends from the Sodus team at Wayne County Community Schools for joining us today!

Former players, future players, and some players who came out of retirement! Great job to all!

And that’s a wrap for AECC Summer Sports! Yesterday was the finale for both Girls Summer Rec. Basketball and our Summer Track & Field

Our Girls Summer Rec. League was scramble style, with different coaches and new teams each day. The girls did a great job and had fun throughout the season.

Summer Track & Field was a great time this entire season. These young athletes worked hard each and everyday.

“It’s not the size of the dog in the fight, it’s the size of fight in the dog!” And these young athletes sure have a lot of fight in them 💪🏾

Meet 2 is in the books and they continue to do an amazing job. Last night, every athlete in attendance claimed gold placing either in 1st, 2nd or 3rd for one of our events! Their sportsmanship, effort, and energy has been amazing 🌟 Great job to them all!
