Competition shouldn’t stop the moment you buy your ticket.

This week, the Coalition for Ticket Fairness filed formal public comments with the Department of Justice on the proposed Final Judgment in United States et al. v. Live Nation Entertainment. Our position is simple: any remedy that comes out of this case has to protect choice at every stage, from the venue negotiating a ticketing partner to the fan who just wants to transfer, gift, or resell a ticket they legitimately bought, without unnecessary restrictions or barriers.

We believe this is a defining moment for how the ticketing industry operates going forward, and we're urging the DOJ to seize it.

When a venue changes its ticketing platform, it can impact more than the technology behind the ticket purchase. These decisions can shape how fans find events, buy tickets, and experience live entertainment.

Giving venues access to a range of options helps drive innovation and improvements that benefit fans.

The goal should be a ticketing ecosystem where venues can choose the solutions that best meet their needs while fans benefit from transparency, flexibility, and a better overall experience.

Consumers deserve to know the full price before they buy. That’s why we’re celebrating the signing of Illinois’ Junk Fee Ban Act, an important step toward clearer, more honest ticket prices.

Beginning in 2027, ticket buyers will see the full price upfront, including mandatory fees, before they check out. No surprises. No hidden add‑ons. Just transparency that helps people make informed decisions.

Congratulations to the Illinois leaders and advocates who made this reform possible. 👏

Ticketing policies should protect fans. But they also need to reflect how fans actually experience live events.

Recent resale restrictions in Ontario have created uncertainty for season ticket holders and fans who may need to transfer or resell tickets they’ve already purchased due to changing schedules, availability, or other circumstances.

As lawmakers continue working to improve the ticket-buying experience, it’s important to create solutions that address bad actors while preserving flexibility for everyday fans. Policies that promote transparency, competition, and consumer choice help ensure fans can continue to participate in the events they love.

The best solutions are those that protect fans while keeping live events accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

Fans are expressing frustration that the Ford government’s hastily passed ticket resale legislation has unfairly punished season ticket holders.

Momentum for accountability in live entertainment is spreading. After the major US antitrust win, Live Nation is now facing growing scrutiny in the UK.

A new report from the UK Parliament says Live Nation controls up to 66% of all UK ticketing and that a “climate of fear” kept promoters and workers from speaking openly. MPs argue that Live Nation’s control over promotion, venues, and ticketing is shutting out independent festivals, artists, and operators.

These concerns echo what the US court just ruled on: exclusivity deals, pressure on artists, and one company shaping the entire market.

The call for a fairer, more competitive live events industry is getting louder, and it’s not stopping at national borders.

The National Consumers League is adding its voice to the growing calls for the Senate to bring the TICKET Act to a vote.

NCL is spotlighting the issues fans continue to face, and calling on Senate leadership to move S.281 to the floor and put meaningful safeguards in place.

The TICKET Act already has overwhelming bipartisan support. NCL’s push shows just how broad the momentum is for real ticketing reform.

Two weeks before kickoff, FIFA is under formal investigation in New York and New Jersey for how it handled 2026 World Cup ticket sales.

Regulators want answers on why a new premium tier appeared only after early buyers had already paid, and why fans were pushed through variable pricing that drove some match prices up by roughly 25% in just a few months.

Fans shouldn’t be manipulated into paying inflated prices or forced to accept seats they didn’t choose. Yet that’s exactly what many experienced after years of waiting for the World Cup to arrive on home soil.

Fair access means clear pricing, honest seat assignments, and rules that don’t change midstream ⚽
