November/December is volume month. You will catch the most Striped Bass in these two months than any other time of year. One exceptional trip we had 52 Striped Bass in 2 hours.

Jim Rodney came out on August 25 from 2:30 to 4:30 pm . To squeeze in a 2 hour fishing trip. It took only 14 minutes to get to our first spot, we skirted past the financial district of lower Manhattan and stopped by the Statue of Liberty.
We immediately started trolling with light spinning rods and Pradco Bombers. On our first pass we had a triple, but lost one of the three. Two bluefish were landed,about 22 inches each.
On the second pass we landed another bluefish and lost another fish (species unknown). Third pass a small striper about 20 inches. All in all we had about 8 blues and 5 striped bass. Here it was 4:15 pm and his daughter had not successfully landed a fish. Though she had hooked and lost about 5. We quickly switched her lure selection to a brand new silver Bomber and success was had. I offered them a free half hour because my next trip started at 5:00pm but they could only use 15 minutes of it, so for a short trip it was fast,fun and fruitful.
