The Floor on Atlantic The Floor is a movement studio and community space in Brooklyn, we offer mat based classes in Pilates and Self Care. ADVOCATE. DONATE.

Our studios offer space for artists and independent movement instructors. The Floor also hosts ongoing Book Discussions, Workshops, an Artist in Residency Program and Instructor Cooperative. Our philosophy is to provide support to better care for one another. Putting our mission into practice we direct our energy and resources into three avenues: EDUCATE. Through these channels we hold monthly boo

In an effort to help get out the vote this November, The Floor is hosting a postcard/phone banking party!

We can’t believe it has been 7 years since we opened our doors. The community and space have grown beyond anything we ever imagined back in 2017.

Over these years we are been able to share space with:
3,800 Pilates Students & 2,300 Dancers
32 Artists in Residence

Thank you for being with us and sharing in our mission to better care for one another. The Floor is truly a special place of warmth and compassion. We wouldn’t be here without this beautiful community.

WORK EXCHANGE AT THE FLOOR

The Floor is committed to people of all economic backgrounds having access to our facility and classes.

Our Work Exchange Program is designed to offer classes or studio rentals, in exchange for a once a week studio cleaning.

This program operates seasonally with a 3-month commitment. We are currently taking applications for the fall (September-December).

The shared vocation between Jamie and Violaine, of community and artist development, still stands firm as a centerline The Floor’s mission these many years later.
