Ten years ago, we started DV7 Academy NYC with a simple but powerful belief: every child deserves a safe place to play, learn, and dream through soccer, regardless of their background or circumstances.
Last week, that mission took us to one of the most iconic places in the world, where 40 children from our free community programs had the opportunity to take part in a special soccer clinic at Rockefeller Center, the heart of New York City
Watching our players step onto the official FIFA World Cup 26 Fan Village mini-pitch at Rockefeller Plaza as part of Telemundo’s “Tu Momento, Tu Jugada” campaign was about much more than a soccer session. It was about showing our kids that they belong in these spaces, that their dreams deserve a stage, and that the beautiful game can open doors they never imagined.
None of this happens alone.
For the past several years, partners like Hispanic Federation and Council Member Francisco Moya have believed in our vision and trusted us to use soccer as a tool for community impact. Together, we’ve created free programs, safe environments, and meaningful opportunities for thousands of children across Queens and many other areas in the city, But more importantly, we give children the opportunity to dream of a more just, inclusive, and open world through the magical, life-changing power of soccer.
Now, as we celebrate 10 years in New York City, moments like this remind us why we do what we do.
