We are proud to announce the appointment of Marc Barbero as our new Sporting Director, beginning in July 2026.
For many in our community, Marc is already a familiar face. Between 2018 and 2020, he was an important part of DV7 Academy NY as a Head Coach, contributing to the development of our players and helping shape the culture and values that continue to define our academy today. Now, after several years of professional growth and leadership, Marc returns to DV7 to lead the next chapter of our sporting project.
Originally from Blanes, Girona (Spain), Marc holds a Degree in Physical Education and Sports Science and a UEFA Pro License, bringing a comprehensive understanding of player development, coaching methodology, and sports education.
Over the last five years, Marc has served as Technical Director and General Manager at LaLiga Academy New York, where he led the academy’s daily operations while overseeing a variety of international projects across Spain and South America. His experience managing coaches, players, programs, and strategic initiatives has established him as one of the most respected academy leaders in the youth soccer landscape.
Marc’s return represents more than a new appointment, it is the return of someone who understands our identity, believes in our mission, and shares our commitment to developing not only better players, but better people. We are excited for the future and confident that Marc’s leadership, experience, and vision will help continue the growth of DV7 Academy NY in the years ahead.
