Train The Tiger Within Shotokan Karate was established in 1993 by Chief Instructor Sensei Basilio Vega. He has been honored three consecutive times by the U.S.A. Martial Arts Hall of Fame. Sensei Vega is a former W.O.K. World Champion at the renowned Gleason's Arena. He is also a three time A.A.U. Gold Medalist in the Senior Division. His cross-training in other forms of martial arts such as Goju, Boxing, and Jungle Rock affords him the insight and versatility in various fighting styles, further enriching his repertoire. Sesei Vega has been actively training, teaching, and competing in martial arts for over 35 years. Sensei Vega's unique intuitive teaching style has earned him many loyal students over the years who still continue to train today. At T.T.W we train the mind and the body in order to develop the individual as a whole. We recite our Dojo Kun (Code) as a reminder of what we are trying to accomplish with our training. "Seek perfection of character, be faithful, endeavor, respect others and refrain from violent behavior."

This page will remain up and dedicated to the life of our beloved Sensei and to his students. For anyone wishing to share some kind words or photos, you are welcomed to message me directly on Facebook through this page.
