Robert Joffrey y Gerald Arpino fundaron Joffrey Ballet School en 1953. La Escuela se esfuerza por mantener la visión de sus fundadores mediante la desconstrucción de la danza con el fin de permitirles a los estudiantes la habilidad de perfeccionar su técnica y forma de modo que fluya natural y apasionadamente desde el interior del bailarín. Por más de cincuenta años de existencia, Joffrey Ballet

School School se ha mantenido en el primer plano de la Educación de Danza en los Estados Unidos. Los graduados de la Escuela han proseguido su carrera de baile con las principales compañías de ballet clásico, así como en numerosas compañías de danza moderna y contemporánea tanto en Estados Unidos como en el exterior. La Escuela de Joffrey Ballet es la única academia de ballet en la ciudad de Nueva York que ofrece un curriculum completo. Este incluye un entrenamiento serio tanto ballet clásico (técnica, pointe, variaciones, adagio, clases para hombres) y ballet contemporáneo (técnica, improvisación, emparejamiento) así como dansé de carateré danza moderna, coreografía, historia de la danza, música, pilates y yoga. Regularmente invitamos personal especializado en danza quienes dictan talleres con temas específicos los cuales ayudan a complementar el contenido del curriculum. Todas las clases son acompañadas por Piano, Chelo y Percusión en Vivo
