This past weekend marks the 10 year anniversary of the school. As all small businesses, we start out with a dream and anxiety of what’s to come. The school has been through rough times such as Covid and other such set backs. However, we survived and are still here. We are here not because of me but because of my students whom I’m blessed to have. I’m thankful and fortunate to be a part of their lives. I’m honored and blessed that you come to my school to learn not only to be good martial artists but good people! Also this would not be possible if not for the mentorship and friendship of Master Joseph Lupo, Jr. . I would have broken a long time ago if not for his confidence in me. 🙏.

Finally Mr Andy Sanchez promoted to his 3rd Degree on also December 13, 2025. Andy along with his brothers have become an intricate part of NYBBC Corona. Whenever they aren’t in training which is rare, the class has a different vibe and are missed. He and his brother Kevin Sanchez came to me as 1st Degree Black belts with the aim of becoming better martial artists. To sum it up, they succeeded! Andy’s skill is extraordinary! Taekwondo runs through his veins and there is little he can’t accomplish. I’m looking forward to see this young man continue to grow not only in Taekwondo but in life!

Also on December 13, 2025, I had the honor of promoting Mr. Wilmer Calle to 2nd Degree! He is the first student from NYBBC Corona to go from White to Black Belt. He is the model student who takes his training seriously and his Kiap can be heard for miles! He comes from a great family in which his two younger siblings are also high ranking martial artists in my school. It has been an honor watching him grow throughout the years into not only a dedicated martial artist but a great young man! Always proud!!

On December 13, 2025, Mr. Alonso Mosquera promoted and received his 1st Degree Black Belt. His journey has been hard and not without struggle. However, from day one he showed me his resilience and dedication not only to Taekwondo but to the school. I’m proud to have him at my side assisting in teaching classes and growing the dojang. Not only that, he is a two time National Medalist. To say the least, he is a good role model for my students. I know the journey has just begun for him!

15 Year Anniversary Gala

Super excited for this event. It’s been 15 years since the doors first opened. How many lives have we changed? How many memories do we hold dear to our hearts? We are blessed to have shared blood, sweat and tears on the mat with our peers and students.

More information will soon be available. The organizing committee is at work planning for this momentous occasion. Tickets will be available with Master John. This is for the entire family and every student of NYBBC - Head Master Joseph Lupo and Master John H Rodriguez

On Day 2 of Nationals for us, Mr. Alonso Mosquera took the mat for us. He has trained hard for this and fought a great match against the eventual gold medal winner. He fought himself to a bronze medal 🥉!! Super proud of him! We will get back to the lab and continue to work hard! Later on today it’s my turn to fight for a spot on the US National team!!

First day of Nationals here in Salt Lake City, UT. Today was Ms Lily’s day to fight. She fought her heart out and am truly proud of her progression and improvement. It wasn’t easy but I’m proud to say that she came out on top and is a National Champion 🥇!!!!! So far 1 for 3. Tomorrow we have Mr Alonso fighting in the light weight division red belt category. We are ready to bring home some more hardware! Let’s go!!! Wolfpack!!

An amazing experience with my Wolfpack, NY Teammates and fellow USA Master Team athletes! I know I'm a bit late but I waited to collect all the pictures taken from various sources as I wanted to share this experience with those who love the art and the sport as much as I do. Saw old friends and made new ones, which in itself is priceless. The Silver medal 🥈was a great token of my effort but the memories are what made this experience exceptional. Thank you to our USA Masters Team Captain .outdoor.girl Mrs Trinity Osborn for setting this up for us. Special thank to Master DS Lee for sitting in my chair for my matches 🙏. It would not have been fun without my Master Joseph Lupo Jr. , Master Chet Bridgewater , Master Carlos Villanueva , and Master Kurvanbai Abdukadyrov . To many more memories gentlemen! Also big love to Ms Carolina, who supported us with drinks, took pictures and was by my side the entire time!
