Here it is, supporters of hurling and Gaelic football, a perfect platform to spread Irish sports in the states!

What do you say, Mark Furey Stephen Ocho Kilgallon Irene Korman Sobolov? Can we incorporate Irish history/athletics education into bringing the knowledge of Irish sports into the classrooms of Manasquan and Hoboken High Schools this academic year? Hoboken Guards chair David Cosgrove would be happy to run demonstrations and historical background education on the sport and its claim to be the fastest and most skilled game in the world. The best blend of all games now being played in more than 120 communities across the US and growing.

How cool is this; a teacher at Gambold High School here in Indy learned how to play hurling and Gaelic football, took the coaching courses, ref courses, and played in the Indy summer league so now he can teach his P.E. students! All he needs is the funding to purchase the equipment!

My students need hurling helmets, sliotars, Gaelic footballs, and hurlers in order to participate in the Gaelic athletic sports of hurling and Gaelic football. At the end of the year, I want my students to have a better understanding and appreciation for the different sports being playing around the…

Well said and done, John Riordan, with your excellent C*C reporting here. We couldn't agree more.
"This is the GAA in America — there’s no long-term benefit outside of the lasting memories forged on an island on the East River."

"When the sun set brilliantly over Manhattan on Sunday evening as the last of the teams of youngsters filtered out in their various colours, it was suddenly obvious where all this intense passion was really directed.

Not some vague promise of a future fiscal break at one of the countless educational institutions crying out for athletic prestige but rather backwards to a heritage the Irish-American is desperately keen to preserve."

Not many of us are naturally inclined towards coaching kids during our selfish twenties.
