Clockwork Jiu Jitsu, the Rockaway Chapter is located in the heart of Rockaway Beach, NYC. We hope you’ll come in and be a part of it.

We’re an affiliate of the renowned Clockwork Jiu Jitsu Academy located in downtown Manhattan. The Rockaway Chapter is owned by Head Instructor Matt Muro and Instructor Kyle Terboss, both blackbelts under Josh Griffiths. At Clockwork Rockaway, we aim to provide an ego-free and friendly yet high level training environment. We believe that Jiu Jitsu is for EVERYONE and that EVERYONE can benefit from

Jiu Jitsu. Matt and Kyle combined bring over 30 years of Jiu Jitsu experience to the Rockaway Community. What keeps us in love and involved with this sport is the constant flow of people we see who’s lives change for the better when they discover Jiu Jitsu. We want to share our knowledge and passion for the sport with the community of Rockaway Beach. On the surface, a Jiu Jitsu room is just a room full of mats but what makes it special is the people that walk through the doors everyday and create a positive and inspiring community.

Battle at the Chapter is Back!

Registration is NOW OPEN for our 2nd Annual in-House Tournament, Battle at the Chapter!

Saturday, March 30th at Clockwork Rockaway

Open to both kids and adults, this is your chance to step on the mats, test your skills, and gain real competition experience, all in a fun, supportive, high-energy environment.

Whether it’s your first time competing or you’re already seasoned, this is a great opportunity to challenge yourself.

All spectators are welcome. Come support the team and feel the energy!

February is the month of love. Show your friends you love them by bringing them to Jiu Jitsu. February is bring your friend month. If your friend enjoys it and signs up, you receive 1 month free Jiu Jitsu. Bring 2 friends that sign up, get 2 months free. Bring 20 friends, well you get the point.

The member who brings in the most friends will win a Clockwork Gi and one free private lesson.

What. A. Weekend.
Huge shoutout to 8 of our kids and adult members who stepped up, pushed through last-minute weight class and bracket changes, and absolutely delivered on the mats this past Saturday. Combined, they brought home 9 medals — and every single one of them had their hand raised. That’s what happens when hard work, resilience, and heart come together.
