It's From the Sole We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization focused on collecting, refurbishing and giving away sneakers to the homeless in NYC and around the world.

It’s From the Sole (IFTS) is a unique movement founded to restore dignity through fashion one step at a time. By distributing athletic shoes to all in need, with a personal touch, we help make the journey more comfortable.

We visited the apartment building in the Bronx where the fire happened, and I was overwhelmed by how much can be lost in an instant.

Standing there, looking up through what was once someone’s home—and seeing the sky where walls and a roof should be—hit us deeply. We couldn’t stop thinking about the families affected: how they’re doing, what they need most right now, and how we can help.

Some of these families may not be able to return for a long time. Many built their lives there—years of memories, comfort, and stability. Some homes likely held multiple generations under one roof. And in a moment, everything familiar was gone.

We felt compelled to come to the Bronx because we couldn’t just sit with that feeling and do nothing. This kind of devastation calls for action.

We hoping to connect directly with families, to listen, to understand their immediate needs, and to find meaningful ways to support them. We also want to partner with organizations and companies that can help provide resources and relief.

Because in moments like this, community matters. New York City is family—and when one part hurts, we should all feel called to respond.

For the second year in a row, we partnered with the Brooklyn Museum invited by to bring families in need a full holiday experience, from toy giveaways and cookie decorating, to arts & crafts and unforgettable moments shared together. Joy to the Borough was a celebration of community and an opportunity to spread cheer.
We are grateful to New Balance for powering this event and helping us make joy accessible to so many, as well as to our partners at Bugaboo, Nigel Sylvester Foundation, Banwood, and Kingart, for donating toys, clothes, supplies as we provided socks sneakers, hats and boots supporting the families we serve.
Thank you and so much for your eye and always chopping up these videos for us. This was our last event of the year and it touched us so much. We can’t wait to 2026 to do to much more in the community domestically and internationally

The best gift this Christmas is solidarity!

We visited the La Bellota Foundation in

San Antonio de Prado where we shared an afternoon of joy and gifts with the children. We received André McDonnell, founder of , in Medellín and from Vibra en Alta we promoted this day so that his great purpose would meet the energy of our community.

Five months ago, in celebration of Andrea’s birthday, our organization had the privilege of traveling to St. Thomas, Jamaica, to give back to children in need. We’ve been encouraging Andre for months to share the unforgettable moments from that trip — and now feels like the right time to remind the world of Jamaica’s beauty, not just its current challenges.

Behind the scenes, we’ve been in conversation with various organizations and foundations to explore how we can help families impacted by the hurricane. We’re committed to using our resources and platform to make a real difference during this difficult time.
