“First of all I want to thank everyone who’s every supported Trophy Griptape from the idea in 2010 to the launch in 2011. I started this brand with only a few hundred dollars and a whole lot of inspiration. My goal (on what I thought was simple) start a company and give back to the skate scene. I felt it was necessary at the time to Do My Part.
My idea for a brand was “Something a bit corny but also dope”. Something people would get whether you’re a skater or not. Something that felt rewarding to a skater, when you stomp that trick , you see a trophy. You know you’re an achiever, you’ve worked hard to accomplish a moment.
I felt I was here to serve the community and step up like those before me and build the skate culture that I saw growing up. In a way I’ve done that and more.
Since the pandemic it’s been a struggle for our distributors and us as a brand to move forward.
During 2022, I believe it’s time to take a mental health break from the brand publicly. I will still be working on Trophy behind the scenes.
Team Riders have access to the account and will be posting great content for you guys. I’ll occasionally post when I have the time to.
I want to be clear, this is just a Hiatus period. I want to thank anyone who is sticking with us through these times.
