USA-s toimub kuues Balti filmifestival, mille kavas on seekord 13 filmi. Üks suuremaid tõmbenumbreid on Anna Hintsi dokumentaal "Savvusanna sõsarad", millel on parasjagu käimas ka Oscari-kampaania.

Red Hot Sauna Brotherhood congratulates

“Smoke Sauna Sisterhood”, a feature documentary by Estonian film director Anna Hints, has been selected to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival 2023; the film focuses on women who come together in the protective darkness of the smoke sauna, an important part of the Estonian cultural heritage.

The sauna season is just beginning! While sauna seems like an obvious choice in the winter time, because who wouldn't like to escape the humidity and cold, sauna in the summer, on the other hand, is a very reasonable choice.

Visited Sompa sauna community project today. It’s very cold out here -12C, but red sauna with sauna stove was heated up and as long you manage to change clothing standing on ice, all is good fun.

Everyone can have their own adaption to movie now 😉 We donated one sauna experience to ERKÜ fundraiser. Bid on silent auction between Sept 16…26.

In November 1958, a feature film was premiered in the United States with a cast of Estonian-Americans, an Estonian language script, but with the story set entirely in American suburbia.

The film, Seitse vihta, follows a group of old friends as they prepare to throw a sauna party, but also weaves in the dreams and plans of their surrounding neighbourhood. Read about what makes this movie an enlightening record of the Estonian diaspora life in this week's newspaper!
