I’m trying a little movement snack experiment today.
Every 2 hours, I’m doing a quick mini workout.
Not a whole production.
Not a “change your life in 45 minutes” workout.
Not me rolling around on the floor questioning my choices. 😂
Just 3–4 minutes of movement.
Today’s movement snack:
15 dumbbell squats
12 dumbbell shoulder presses
15 seated rows with resistance bands
15 seated chest presses with resistance bands
12 overhead triceps extensions
That’s it.
And after my first one?
I had more energy.
I actually started doing things I had been procrastinating on.
Apparently my body didn’t need a dramatic motivational speech.
It needed me to stand up and move for a few minutes.
Rude, honestly. 😂
But here’s the thing: research supports this.
Breaking up long periods of sitting with short movement breaks may help improve blood sugar control, insulin sensitivity, cardiovascular fitness, mood, energy, strength, and muscular endurance.
It may also help reduce some of the negative effects of sitting too long.
And honestly, for a lot of people, this feels more doable than trying to force a full 60-minute workout.
Because sometimes saying, “I’ll work out later,” turns into later becoming tomorrow, then Monday, then next month, then suddenly you’re in a whole new season of life. 😂
You do NOT have to do my exact workout.
Every 1.5–2 hours, just get up and move for 3–4 minutes.
You can:
March in place
Dance
Walk on your walking pad
Hop on a stationary bike
Do chair squats
Stretch
Do the first few minutes of a YouTube workout
I set reminder alarms for mine today because I know myself.
Without reminders, my brain will absolutely pretend we never made this agreement.
So here’s my challenge for you:
Try ONE movement snack today.
Just 3–4 minutes.
Nothing fancy.
Nothing extreme.
Just intentional movement.
What would your movement snack be?
Walking? Dancing? Marching? Strength moves? Stretching?

Because sometimes the thing that changes your energy isn’t one giant workout.
Sometimes it’s standing up for yourself — literally — a few minutes at a time.
