Join Kat Wildish for a 6-week series in Absolute Beginner Ballet at Gibney!
Absolute Beginner Ballet is your safe space, whether you are a true beginner or a beginner at heart. No judgement, just good training and fun. Kat is altogether witty, rigorous, and welcoming – encouraging for professionals and beginners alike. Her classes are a dancer’s safe place – noncompetitive, , gender neutral, and nurturing. She brings many styles to classes, from extensive studies of Balanchine, Vaganova, Cecchetti, Bournonville, Cuban training, Royal Ballet, and ABT. With special attention on placement, injury prevention, and careful, anatomically sound work, classes are also extremely “danceable,” emphasizing musicality, harmony, line, and stage presence.

Would you believe that your Absolute Beginner classmate might even be a professional dancer rehabbing an injury, or honing their technique? Truly, the Absolute Beginner class is open to all levels, with a focus on true beginners...from those who have never set foot in the studio to those who enjoy the welcoming spirit of the beginner mindset. Zero intimidation, zero judgement, 100% fun and 100% proper training from a qualified, respectful, and understanding teacher. And live accompaniment with Benjamin Bradham!
