🍔STOP LOOKING AT THE SCALE🍔 there is a 15lbs difference between these photos… FIFTEEN!
🍔exactly one year ago, I was going throughhhh it. Physically depleting, emotionally exhausted, mentally unstable; I stopped training and stopped eating. It took months to get back the muscles that I starved for weeks and weeks on end and I find myself still fighting to recover from the damage I did to myself during that time (it wasn’t only physical).
🍔being in the world of fitness and always being a relatively “in shape” person, people feel they can talk about what I look like and what I eat; never in a malicious way, but nonetheless, it was/is always a part of conversation. When you find yourself no longer treating your body with respect (on many levels) and people come along to compliment how “lean” you look they encourage your damaging behavior. Or when they mention how “you look better with more meat on yourself” they make you feel worse about your body than you already have been. Discussing how you’re “scarfing down pizza” or how you “barely cleaned your plate”. It’s a part of being a trainer and a dancer that I was never fond of and actively try to tune out.
🍔comparing your body to others is natural but incredibly damaging. Whether it is your own from the glory days, your best friend’s, or the insta fitness models, looking at your own body with negativity only perpetuates more negative treatment to it! Be grateful for the body you have and treat it with love!
🍔it isn’t until your body gives into the damaging treatment it’s received that we understand how much we had to be grateful for! Respect your body with nutrients, movement, rest and love and your body will give you all of the love back! Strength, energy, confidence, joy, longevity and soooo much more is all within your reach if you give your body and most importantly, your mind the attention it deserves.
🍔get into the gym, take a moment to meditate, journal moments that bring you joy, eat food provided by nature, spend time alone, spend time together, go to bed, read something that makes your mind grow and most importantly, focus on your damn self. You’re #1, you deserve it!
