Bombers Rugby Football Club Men's Rugby Football club from Bayonne, NJ. Open enrollment year round, no tryout or prior training necessary, contact us for more info. Who can play rugby?

Founded in 1989, the Bayonne Rugby Football Club competes in Div. II of the Met-NY RFU, within the Northeast RFU of USA Rugby. Drawing mostly from Hoboken, Bayonne and Jersey City, NJ and surrounding towns, the Club boasts over 60 players from 12 nations. In addition to A, B and Old Boys Sides, the Club also fields a ‘7’s’ side each summer, competing in some of the top tournaments in the Northeast

. An active social schedule is highlighted by our annual spring tour where the Bombers have taken on the local sides in such destinations as Ireland, Bahamas, Bermuda, Grand Cayman, Tortola and Turks and Caicos. We are always looking for new players of all levels of experience. Height: 5'2" to 6'10"
Weight: 130lbs to 320lbs+
Speed: Tortoise to Lightning Bolt
Athletic Background: Horseshoes to NFL

Rugby is filled with a diversity of positions and skill requirements, so almost anyone can play rugby at some level. Skills that you may already possess from other sports will help you, such as:

Basketball: ball handling, jumping and possession tactics
Soccer: kicking, positioning, vision and strategy
Football: tackling, running with the ball, leg strength
Wrestling: manhandling opponents, strength and endurance

Not the result we wanted, and plenty for us to work on as we move through the season. We’ll take the lessons back to the hangar, get to work, and keep building. 💣

Today we celebrate the one-week anniversary of our Bull Moose Tournament win 🏆💣

Now that the press has quieted down and the camera flashes have finally stopped, a huge thank you to Suffolk Rugby for hosting us and putting together a great day of rugby. We had an absolute blast.

And a special thank you to all the friends who joined us, pulled on a Bombers jersey, and helped us out on the pitch throughout the day. 🤝

Out of respect, we’re not in the business of poaching players… but our lawyers advised us that we can say: the Bombers jersey looks pretty good on you. 😉

We promise we’re done now.

The final 7s mission of the season is here.

Nine Bombers (give or take…) answered the call for one last deployment before we close out the campaign.

One last push with everything we’ve got left. The last men standing.

A vanguard element deploys tonight to establish the forward position, while the remainder of the squadron links up at first light tomorrow.
