Empire United Fencing Empire United Fencing strives to help its students achieve personal excellence through the sport of fencing.

Empire United focuses on providing a high level foil training environment. In order to participate in private or group instruction a fencer must be a member of the club. Fencers may pay for the membership annually ($895 for a 12 month season) or monthly ($105). The club offers a monthly two class package for ($300) or monthly unlimited class package for ($400). Private lessons may be scheduled wit

h the coaches and are ($40/ 20 min). Open bouting is offered at the club towards the conclusion of our group classes. A fencer may pay a floor fee and does not need to be a member in order to participate in open bouting. A typical fencer at our club attends at least three, and in most cases four classes a week and takes two to three lessons per week. Without a consistent commitment to both private and group instruction we find that it is incredibly challenging for a fencer to move their level forward.

We wrapped up our first EUF Book Club today. šŸ“šā˜•

Finished We Were Liars, talked about all the twists and turns, had some great conversations, and toasted with Starbucks.

One of the things I love most about EUF is that itā€™s never just about fencing. Itā€™s about building community, creating memories, and giving our kids experiences theyā€™ll remember.

This is why EUF is more than a fencing club.

We teach fencing, but what weā€™re really building is confidence, discipline, mentorship, and a community that supports our athletes long after they leave the strip. šŸ”„Thrilled to share that Iā€™ve officially accepted a position as a Research Associate at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, joining Dr. Daniel Orringerā€™s lab this August.
Over the next two years, Iā€™ll have the opportunity to work at the intersection of neuroscience, surgery, and translational research, contributing to projects focused on advancing intraoperative technologies and improving patient care.
I am incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported me throughout this journey: my mentors, coaches, teammates, professors, lab colleagues, friends, and family. From the fencing strip to the classroom to the research lab, each experience has shaped the way I approach challenges, teamwork, and growth.
Iā€™m especially excited for the chance to learn from such an innovative team while continuing to explore my passion for neurosurgery and academic medicine.
Looking forward to this next chapter. šŸ’™

Why did we choose We Were Liars for our very first EUF Book Club?

Because great books do what great coaches doā€”they make us think beyond the obvious.

On the surface, itā€™s a page-turner full of mystery, family dynamics, and unexpected twists. But underneath, itā€™s a story about truth, perspective, accountability, privilege, and the consequences of our choices.
