American Youth Dance Theater

American Youth Dance Theater Ballet & dance classes for children & teens. NYC's most established dance ed. provider since 1996.

Now with locations on the Upper East Side and Washington Heights, American Youth Dance Theater offers year-round classes, summer camp programs, and performance opportunities for children ages 2-18. Classes include Mommy-n-Me, Pre-Ballet, Graded Level Ballet, Tap, Broadway Jazz/Musical Theater, Hip Hop, and Contemporary. Our ballet faculty consists of American Ballet Theater Affiliate Teachers and

the ABT National Training Curriculum is followed in all of our classes. Among the many benefits that this affiliation offers, the greatest part is knowing that our students are being taught according to the highest national standards and that through yearly exams our students and teachers are able to evaluate their progress in relation to quality dance programs nation-wide, which is certainly something that helps us all stay on our toes! The ABT National Training Program was created for the purposes of providing physically and developmentally sound ballet training for students of all levels, recreational through pre-professional.

From dance camp to Broadway camp, what a summer it’s been! 💕✨ We’ve spent the summer dancing, creating, laughing, and making the sweetest memories together. Dance Camp has taken us through the most wonderful themes, from Daniel Tiger to Gabby’s Dollhouse and so many fun adventures in between! 🩰💗✨

Broadway Camp has brought the stage to life all summer long, with phenomenal shows like Zombies, Aladdin, and so many magical moments in between! 🎭✨

We can’t believe summer is already coming to an end! And just like that… this concludes our Summer 2026.

And remember… it’s never too early to start planning your return for Summer 2027!

🩰✨ That’s a wrap on the 2026 AYDT Summer Dance Intensive! ✨🩰

Two weeks of exceptional training, outstanding guest artists, and so much growth! Our dancers expanded their versatility, strengthened their technique, and were inspired in a supportive and challenging environment.

From ballet, pointe, repertory, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, modern, composition, and stepping to exploring dance history, anatomy, nutrition, dancer health, and Pilates, our dancers worked to become stronger, healthier, and more well-rounded dancers.

We are so proud of everything our dancers accomplished and grateful to our incredible faculty for making these two weeks so special! 💜

✨ Firebirds 2026 Season in Review! ✨

What. A. Season. ❤️🕊️

This year, Firebirds took dance beyond the stage, sharing our love of dance with the community, giving back to meaningful causes, and creating memories we’ll never forget.

From performing for nursing home residents and community festivals to leading fundraisers, organizing a donation drive, and raising over $13,000 for incredible organizations, our dancers proved that every step can make a difference.

Here’s to the friendships, the performances, the leadership, the service, and all the moments that made this season so special. We are beyond proud of everything our dancers accomplished both on and off the stage!

A huge thank you to our amazing dancers, families, teachers, volunteers, donors, and community partners for making this season one to remember. We can’t wait to see what Firebirds accomplishes next! ❤️✨

Join us for two weeks of exceptional training with our outstanding faculty of guest artists. Expand your versatility, strengthen your technique, and be inspired in a supportive and challenging environment.

🌺✨ What a fun Week 2 of camp at AYDT! 🎭

Our Moana Camp dancers had an incredible week filled with dancing, reading, creative arts and crafts, games, and so much fun as they set sail on their island adventure! 🌊🌺

Meanwhile, our Descendants Broadway Camp worked hard all week and wrapped it up with a fantastic performance! We are so proud of all their dedication, creativity, and confidence on stage. 💚👑

🎮🎤 Next up is another exciting week of camp!
