In response to the surge in anti-Asian hate crimes that have victimized Kababayan and other members of the Asian-American Community, the Philippine Consulate General in New York and the Philippine Community Center Foundation of New Jersey, Inc. invite the Filipino Community to a free workshop on self-defense for adults and senior citizens.

Great improvisation!

Here is a video we did 5 years ago for law enforcement and or anyone needing to use locks for compliance and control.

Given the specific circumstances that the NYPD currently faces with the new restrictions in restraining a suspect, it’s safe to say there will be a necessity to re-evaluate commonly held beliefs in restraining techniques.

These techniques here WORK. We have successfully apply these in a BJJ and competitive grappling scenario to lead to more dominant positions so that is not the main concern.

The main concern now is going from these locks to a successful hand cuff result.

Of course, we’ve developed far more additional routes from just the basic lock flow here, the basis of the video still remains highly relevant.
