Here's something to CROW about: you have until the end of today to book a discounted private session with me...it's a September special!

Message me by midnight (I mean, I'll be asleep after 10, but I'll answer in the morning) and you can use the session anytime before the end of the year.

Back to school, back to work...back to yoga!

After a summer hiatus, the Wednesday 7:30-8:30pm classes at Hudson Pilates are starting up tomorrow, September 7. Classes are open-level and mask-optional. DM me to join!

This will be the third year that I'm hosting a by-donation class (donation is, of course, optional) to honor my dad, who passed away in 2019. Proceeds from the class will go to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. (Although if I make more than my goal, any extra funds will go towards buying food for Fridge at the Fort, a community-based organization in Washington Heights.)

My dad passed down to me his love of ice cream, theatre, naps, and corny jokes that makes everyone else roll their eyes. Fun fact: the past two times I've taught this class, ice cream was on sale that very day...it's a sign, I'm telling you.

I hope you'll join me this Friday, July 29 at 5:30pm for a 45-minute practice that will ease you into the weekend...and a sprinkle-covered treat. Can't attend live? Ever feel like life (especially the past two-plus years) feels like a balancing act? Well, have I got a series for you!

A Balancing Act is four-week series that focuses on balance. Not only will we work those one-legged poses like Tree, Half-Moon, and Warrior 3, but we'll also bring attention to other elements of balance. We are wonderfully (and frustratingly) asymmetrical, so we'll also seek to bring harmony to mind and body, action and easy, and strength and softness. And maybe some arm balancing for good measure!

Guess who’s going to be yoga-fying Fort Tryon Park with free Sunset Yoga classes for the second year in a row? (Hint: it’s me!) Happy May...and happy new series!

April was all about core. These next four Mondays, it's hips and shoulders…that's right, time to get into those hotspots of tension and stress. (You'll thank me later, I promise.) The series is called No More Boulders in Hips and Shoulders, and classes target the hips and shoulders, going deep, deep, and deeper in order to stretch, release, and relieve. We will spend quality time in poses such as Pigeon and Eagle, and explore new ones like Frog and Cow Face Pose. Prepare to open the hips, soften the shoulders, and end with restorative poses that do both. The series classes are on my Namastream calendar, so anyone can join.

Happy April...and happy new series!

For these next four Mondays, it's going to be Core and More!: a progression of classes that focuses on building awareness about -- and bringing attention to -- our core. Working the core is so much more than strong abs. It helps our posture, supports our lower back, and activates the literal center of our stability.

Spend April working on poses that fortify the core. But also poses that create steadiness and precision, as well as strength and space for breath. Engage your core and activate your life force.

Promoting yoga with a photo that shows my abs is not really my style...not at all, actually. But let's just say that you need a strong core to stand up tall and stay balanced while you're tired and hangry and spending time on a roof on a hot summer day (see photo).

New in-person series starts tomorrow in the Hudson View Gardens Lounge! Don't you want to practice on these pretty parquet floors while looking out of those wide and wonderful windows?

Four open-level classes, March 21 to April 11, 7:30-8:30pm. All you need to do is BYOM (Bring Your Own Mat). You can either sign up for the full series or drop in for a single class.

Vaccination required; masking optional (it's a biiiiig, airy room). DM me if you want more details.

Thanks to all who generously donated to the birthday class for my dad. Since I hit my donation goal for the Parkinson’s fund, I was able to buy all this food to bring to Fridge at the Fort: tuna, pasta, milk, olive oil, and Oreos…because dessert is an essential food group.

This weekend would have been my dad's 88th birthday, so I'm teaching a by-donation (donation is optional) Restorative class this evening, 6-6:45pm to raise some funds for The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research and Fridge at the Fort.
