ONLINE BRAIN-BASED BACK PAIN REHAB GROUP CLASS

FAQS:

■ What is the duration of the class? It is 24 one hour long sessions (twice a week for 12 weeks).

■ What does brain-based mean? The controlling systems for pain and movement are the brain and nervous system. Thus, the brain and nervous system must be addressed and be the focus throughout a rehab or movement enhancement program.

■ What is the size of the class? Each class has 4 participants.

■ Will each participant have the same program? No, each participant will have an individualized program based on the information gathered from the pre-class assessment/intake questionnaire, although the exercises will be similar.

■ Will there be support in between classes? Yes, there is email/text support throughout the duration of the class.

One of our favorite ways of explaining movement issues to clients is to simply use the idea of maps 🤓☝🏽Generally speaking, efficient movement points to brain 🧠 maps that are relatively precise and clear while inefficient movement indicates maps that are more "blurry".

For some time now, pain researchers 👨🏽‍🔬 have demonstrated this concept using fMRI studies that have clearly shown that key body map areas in the brain 🧠 are "smudged" in cases of chronic pain ⚡️Check the link in the bio 😎👆🏽for an excellent paper that demonstrates that smudging in the motor cortex is related to the severity of low back pain.
