I came to New York with a very clear picture of the kind of work I wanted to make, and only a vague idea of how I was going to make a life doing it.
Places like this became part of the answer.
For more than twenty years, I’ve walked these floors as a set designer, stylist, merchandiser, and now, with my own studio. The showrooms change. Many of the people don’t. And the best ideas are usually already here, quietly pointing toward what comes next.
That’s what I’ve always loved about this building — and what this day celebrates: a whole building full of what’s next.
