Last week, we had the privilege of taking 20 of our rising eighth-grade students to the Actors Fund Home in Englewood, New Jersey, where they shared a special performance with the residents.
The residents thoroughly enjoyed the show, and our students were wonderful ambassadors for Rosie’s Theater Kids. But what made the day truly extraordinary happened after the performance.
For nearly an hour, our students stayed to talk with the residents, introducing themselves, listening to stories, asking questions, and making genuine connections. Watching young people and older generations engage with such warmth, curiosity, and kindness was incredibly moving. It was a beautiful reminder that the arts don’t simply entertain, they bring people together.
