Just over 5 years ago, we opened the doors to the Revolutionary Fitness East Harlem studio. And after many adventures both up and down, tons of great experience and growth of our community we are packing up our gear and getting ready to close down.
We are extremely grateful to all of the folks who have supported us over the past few years and our partners at the Justice Center. A community fitness space, funded by its members and lead by a workers cooperative, is not an easy model with lots of examples to the drawer from and we want to thank you for all joining us on this journey. We worked our butts off, made a lot of mistakes along the way but definitely came out stronger and more inspired by it all. And we are proud of the strong community we built in El Barrio.
And while this is an end to our fitness studio in East Harlem, it is just another step in the evolution of Revolutionary Fitness. Over the past few years, we have been able to expand into more communities throughout the world and spread our service model to more fitness professionals. We are going to continue with our educational program to support the development of those looking to do Revolutionary Fitness work in the spaces they’re in.
We will also continue to develop our virtual platform with more resources to support folks during this pandemic and support safe and responsible ways to engage with one another. We will be sharing more details in the coming weeks about how that will look this season. To join us on our virtual platform and be a RevFit Online community member, make a monthly pledge on our Patreon www.patreon.com/revfitonline.
Also, we will still be in the community doing affordable outdoor fitness classes, workshops, and all the great stuff we've offered since 2010. We will continue to strengthen our partnerships at the Justice Center and other spaces throughout NYC.
We are excited about the next chapter for Revolutionary Fitness but we will miss our space on 116th & Park ave, our members, and all the folks we built with over the past 5 years. Thanks to everyone, Let’s Move Together.
