Blauw Shorts Swimwear brand: making swim shorts out of 100% ocean recycled plastic

Beautiful ocean content is easy to post.

The harder question is: are we doing anything for the places we love?

Blauw is made for the ocean, and from it. Our shorts use recycled ocean plastic, including discarded bottles and fishing nets recovered from the sea.

Better for the water, the wildlife, and the places we return to every summer. 🌊

The ocean gives us the place we swim, travel, reset and feel most at home.

So making another product that only takes from it never made much sense to us.

Blauw uses recovered ocean plastic to create swim shorts, while every pair sold helps fund seaweed restoration.

We’re not saving the world.

We’re just trying to make sure the thing we build gives something back to the place that inspired it.

Blauw started with a pair of swim shorts.

But somewhere between the ocean days, photoshoots, cold dips, conversations and people wearing them around the world, it became something bigger.

A small community of people who genuinely care about the water.

And honestly, that might be our favourite part.

Blauw is still an independent project, which means a lot of the things you see happen pretty close to home.

The shoots, the product decisions, the packing, the mistakes, the improvements.

But the idea behind it has always been simple: make better swimwear for ocean people, use recovered plastic, and give something back through seaweed restoration.

That’s what we’re building.
