My favorite time of the year! And we can all agree that everything is stabilizing more powerfully in the collective, two days seems like a month, a week seems like a month, and a month seems like lifetimes. Keeping up with our own process, and the modern world can take a toll. Especially in great times of a collective fighting for liberation. Our Liver is our organ that processes EVERYTHING what we eat, what we drink, the air that we are breathing in the spaces and places around us through our skin. From the Yoruba religion, Yemaya was brought over to the New World by enslaved Africans as early as the 16th century. To avoid persecution but maintain the legends of the faith, the Orishas were integrated into the Christian faith, with their identities masked behind Christian Icons like Mother Mary and Mary Magdalene. Today, Yemanja is celebrated in Umbanda and Cambomble culture in Brazil and parts of the carribean. Yemanjá is often depicted as a mermaid, and is associated with the moon (in some Diaspora communities), water, and feminine mysteries. She is the protector of women. She governs everything pertaining to women; childbirth, conception, parenting, child safety, love, and healing. According to myth, when her waters broke, it caused a great flood creating rivers and streams and the first mortal humans were created from her womb. Today November 23rd is 40 days from January 1st 2026 ✨ We all know 40 days it takes to break a spell of old consciousness.
