No. 4. Inspired by SMC Fixed Gear ‘s recent countdown of the top 100 fixed gear freestyle riders of all time, I’m sharing the ender from my “Word Is Bond” video part.

I find it difficult to imagine my life without fixed gear and the incredible lifelong friends I’ve made because of it. Being attached to this community for the last 17 years has been one of life’s greatest blessings, and has given me a sense of belonging that I never experienced before stumbling into this world all those years ago.

Thank you to Johnathan Ball for putting in the time to compile this incredible extensive list of friends, and thank you to everyone reading this for being a part of our shared journey. Head over to the SMC Blog and check out the write ups and video parts he provided for everybody.

Sliver of light. This was one of the last photos of the day as the avenues fell into shadow and we caught the remaining light reflecting off the surrounding homes. It was great meeting Chris Wang at MASH SF CA the day before and I’m glad we got to get out and shoot while he was visiting from NYC.

Over cooked. Midway through this roll the camera malfunctioned and captured everything with the aperature wide open. I was able to pull these images out of what was a roll of incredibly dense negatives.

Forgotten Rolls 001: TCB Park Daze. Yesterday I developed and scanned this roll that has been collecting dust on a shelf for the better part of a decade. I can’t decide if these moments feel like yesterday, or a lifetime ago. If you have any guesses as to the exact year these are from, I’d love to hear it.

The long hallway. It’s been rad riding track bikes and connecting with the last few days. Here’s a shot of him threading the needle through bumper to bumper traffic in downtown yesterday. He’s in SF with for a couple of months, so reach out and show em’ both around this incredible city.
