Hello, Fitness Warriors! BAP here with an important update on my health journey.
A week ago, I shared that I wasn't feeling well due to my hypothyroidism, which led to migraines, body pain, and even high blood pressure. Thankfully, my recent 2D echo came back normal, but I’ve got more tests lined up this week, including an endoscopy, to further investigate. As many of you know, I had a colonoscopy and endoscopy two years ago, both of which were normal, but as we age, it's crucial to stay on top of regular screenings, especially when something feels off.
Holistic health is all about understanding how our body systems are interconnected, so it's important to consider everything when seeking a diagnosis. That said, I always emphasize the value of doing our own research and exploring natural ways to support our health. As a researcher, I dive into scientific articles, and recently, I came across fascinating evidence supporting the benefits of olive oil for blood pressure.
According to both scientific studies and personal testimonials, consuming olive oil can help relax the arteries and support the digestive system, cognitive function, hormonal balance, anti-inflammatory effects, immune support, and heart health. All of these benefits can contribute to lowering blood pressure.
🛑Before I share my experience, I want to remind everyone that what works for one person might not work for another, and it’s always best to consult your doctor before making any dietary changes, especially if you have underlying health conditions.
Now, about my personal experience: Early last week, my blood pressure spiked to 170/110, dangerously close to hypertensive crisis levels. Thankfully, I didn't experience any symptoms at that moment. The next day, I decided to try olive oil shots—1 tablespoon of pure, authentic olive oil on an empty stomach in the morning, and another tablespoon before dinner. Amazingly, since then, my blood pressure has stabilized, consistently staying within the normal range of around 110/80.
Is it the olive oil? Perhaps. But I believe it’s also due to my combination of healthy fats, low-carb veggies, and an 18-hour fasting routine, all within a calorie deficit.
Here's what I've learned so far: Incorporating good fats (yes, olive oil included!), reducing sodium, and focusing on low glycemic index foods can significantly help manage blood pressure and overall health. I’ll continue tracking my progress, but so far, these lifestyle changes are helping me keep both my blood pressure and thyroid function within normal ranges.
I hope this update is helpful, and please remember to take care of yourselves! Thank you all for your continued support and love—I truly appreciate it! I hope to stay healthy so the singing fun continues for all of us.🥰
To wrap up, here’s a song requested by one of our palangga: “I Will Always Love You.” I hope you enjoy it. Have a lovely day!
