Do you remember where you were when the planes hit the towers and they collapsed?

Twenty-five years ago, I stood on the banks of the East River in Brooklyn and watched the world change in an instant. The feelings of that morning -the shock, the quiet, and the heavy smoke over the city-have never left me.

Every single time I look out at the skyline today, my heart still aches for the lives we lost and the families changed forever. But I'm also reminded of how incredibly strong, brave, and united our community proved to be.
