Confidence in a woman has always made some people uncomfortable — especially when they were taught that femininity was something to hide.
Maybe you grew up hearing:
“Don’t wear too much makeup.”
“Don’t show too much.”
“Don’t be too loud.”
“Don’t think you’re all that.”
“Be humble.”
And sometimes, those messages get passed down from generation to generation until women begin policing other women for doing what they were never comfortable enough — or allowed — to do themselves.
That’s where projection can show up.
A woman who is comfortable in her femininity isn’t automatically seeking attention. A woman who loves beauty, makeup, fashion, softness, sensuality or taking care of herself isn’t less intelligent, less capable or less respectable.
And femininity does not mean weakness.
You can be soft and have boundaries.
You can be nurturing and say NO.
You can wear the heels, the lashes and the lipstick — and still command a room.
You can be independent and still allow yourself to receive.
You can have masculine and feminine energy coexist within you.
You don’t have to dim one part of yourself to prove another.
Sometimes the woman you’re judging is simply giving herself permission to exist in a way you were taught you couldn’t.
And maybe the real work isn’t judging her.
Maybe it’s asking yourself why her confidence makes you uncomfortable. 💭✨
