History begins in a moment... and a movement... Dance Africa celebrates 47 years of honoring African dance, African drumming and our African ancestry. Artists took revolutionary steps to ensure that our connection to the motherland was lived, live and available to the community. To bring African dance & drumming to the big stage was/is an act of elevating African dance & drumming. Thank you Baba Chuck, Baba Abdel, the Council of Elders and all of the artists, BAM staff and community who have supported this legacy. It is legacy! it is history!... it is ours!
