She's been active her whole life, and she's not about to let one knee change that. 💪

A former college athlete with a little arthritis, she came to us when her knee was, in her words, "really killing" her.

She knew she liked us from the first meeting. We started by really assessing what was bothering her, then focused on movement.

Since then? She says she feels like she's getting better every day.

Heart this and comment "active" if you're not ready to let pain slow you down.

A Chicago quarterback went down recently, and it sparked the same question I hear from active adults constantly, what's actually happening when something in your low back "goes" during activity?

The short version: your low back, pelvis, and legs don't work in isolation. They work together as one system. When something in that chain gets overloaded or isn't moving the way it should, the low back is often where it finally shows up, even if the actual issue started somewhere else.

That's why guessing "what did I do wrong" rarely gets you the real answer.

Comment HAMSTRING and I'll send you our free guide to what's actually worth paying attention to.

Tried something completely outside my comfort zone this week, aerial fitness at AIR.

As a physical therapist, what stood out to me wasn't the flexibility or the strength it takes, it's how much control your body needs for every single version of a movement, especially the ones that flip your whole sense of orientation upside down.

This is exactly why I love trying new things myself. You learn things about your own body that you'd never catch just watching from the sidelines.

Like, comment, and follow for more of these, always curious what to try next.

Tony used a Fit-Habilitation day the day before his own wedding, not exactly the timing you'd plan for, but his body wasn't cooperating and he needed it sorted before one of the biggest days of his life.

What stuck with him was how fast it happened. In his words, it took about 15-20 minutes of actually figuring out what was going on, not guessing, not a generic stretch routine, an actual diagnosis.

The result: he felt great for his wedding day.

Heart this and comment "wedding" if you've got a big day coming up and you're not sure your body's ready for it.

Height and weight tell you almost nothing about what's actually happening inside your body. So I got scanned to find out what mine was really saying.

The number that actually matters isn't the one on a regular scale, it's things like visceral fat, the kind that sits around your organs and quietly drives metabolic health risks you can't see or feel until they show up as something bigger.

Knowing that number isn't about chasing a smaller size. It's about actually understanding what your body's working with, so the plan around it makes sense.

Curious what yours would show? Set up a Fit-Habilitation consult and let's find out.

A scan can tell you what your spine looks like sitting still. It says nothing about what happens the moment you actually move, running, bending, reaching for something, twisting to grab a bag out of the backseat.

That's the gap most people don't realize exists. The picture and the pain aren't always telling the same story.

Your body is giving you information constantly. The real work is figuring out what it's actually trying to say.

Wonder why you feel so stiff first thing in the morning, and have a hard time straightening up until you've been moving for a bit?

As a physical therapist, this is one of the things I get asked about constantly. Part of it comes down to your hips specifically, when certain muscles get tight overnight, they can limit movement and leave your body compensating in ways you don't even notice until you're already up and moving.

A few simple movements first thing can make a real difference in how your body feels the rest of the day.

Heart this and comment "stiff" if mornings are rough for your body too.

Lisa noticed things most people wouldn't, leaning a certain way, moving differently than she used to. Instead of brushing it off, she got it looked at.

Now she's back to moving the way she used to, without second-guessing every step. That's the real win,not just less pain, but her actual activity level back to where she wants it.

That's the difference between managing something and actually getting past it.

Heart this and comment "active" if you want to get back to doing what you used to do without thinking twice about it.

Compression boots always looked a little excessive to me, until I actually tried them and understood what they're doing.

They're built to push blood and fluid through your legs, the same recovery tool athletes use after hard training sessions. The idea isn't that you need to be an elite athlete to benefit, it's that your body works the same way theirs does, just asking less of it day to day.

Tried it out at Restore in NYC, curious whether it's actually worth adding to your own routine.

Heart this and comment "compression" if you've wondered whether tools like this are worth it or just hype.

Wanting to get back to what you love and worrying you'll set yourself back, those two things can feel like they're pulling in opposite directions.

A few signs worth actually paying attention to: pain that starts right away, pain that gets worse mid-workout, or soreness that lingers past 48 hours. None of these automatically mean stop, they might just mean your body needs a different starting point than where you're at right now.

Not sure what your body can handle right now? That's exactly what we help active adults figure out.

Book a Consult Call, and let's talk about what's going on and what you should actually do next.
