The majority of SG men fall out of shape after their mandatory 2 years of National Service. Im being extremely generous with 50%, its more like 80%.

Look around your reservist buddies and tell me im wrong..
And im calling out my brothers in arms with love, its embarrassing if we have to count on soldiers who are out of shape to fight any potential wars for our country 🇸🇬.

Okay besides the fact that I am too comfortable getting topless out in public, heres a few reasons why you should go topless outdoors (whenever possible).

1. Its ridiculously hot outside now. You dont want your shirt to get sweaty.

2. You get Vitamin D from the sun which boosts your mood and improves your health.

3. You get a nice tan. I know beauty perception is different across cultures but having a golden glow looks way healthier than looking pale- in my opinion

4. You build character and thicker skin when you go topless outdoors (regardless of how fit you think you look). The more you get used to being in uncomfortable situations, the more comfortable you get at being uncomfortable. Builds resilience.

If you want to copy your favourite influencers and wake up at 4am to go to the gym just to look hardcore, think again.

Are you sacrificing your sleep because of that?

Remember insufficient sleep = less gains. Our muscles dont actually grow during our workouts, but when we sleep. Chronic lack of sleep increases your cortisol levels and it affects your energy levels, your muscle growth and recovery.

Unless you are truly operating on a full day schedule and the only time you can get your workout in is at 4am, then by all means. But also remember, skipping a day of workout just to get sufficient sleep can actually be better for your gains long term. Details is in the nuance. Plan wisely.
