Donnie Brown a long time street basketball player in Brooklyn and a member of Marine Park Basketball went on to be with the Lord today. Many of us played with Donnie and will always remember his passes of perfection and that shot from the foul line! Many of us participated in a birthday celebration for Donnie at MSG when we played on the garden court before a Liberty game. I will never forget it, thanks Donnie. You live on as a gentleman and a great team player, bless you!

There is a murder investigation underway inside the lobby of the Unity Plaza Houses at 611 Blake Ave. and a shooter on the loose.

The last games of 2013 are a wrap and what a year it was. This year we saw the return of some and the exit of a few ! Tommy Keenan returned and showed us all what it means to be a real winner. We miss Dave "the baker" but some miss his free assortment of Danish, cakes and rolls more! Some of us miss our knee cartilage and mobility but the game goes on with just a bit less on the quick cuts! Plenty of new young blood this year so the game still resembles school yard basketball! Donny Brown continues to play and he is on his 70's, yes that's right! I would be remiss if I didn't mention our CFL, commissioner for life, Danny Burns who this year became a yoga specialist. One can clearly see the benefit to his game, he moves better than ever and seems to never miss a shot! Now if we can just getting to stop grabbing you as you go by, well that would be a goal for 2014.
