My boy Buster is 14 and I cry everyday. My first task in the morning to to get down on the floor and curl up with him. I have since I first got him at 12 weeks old, and will til he’s ready to pass. 🙏🏻🕉️💟

Let that sink in for a moment: the first American Pope in the history of the Catholic Church — born and raised in the United States — will not set foot on American soil while Donald Trump is president.

Not because of health. Not because of scheduling. Because the Vatican received threats from the Pentagon, and Pope Leo decided his safety could not be guaranteed in his own home country.

The leader of 1.4 billion Catholics worldwide, an American by birth, is effectively a refugee from the nation that produced him. He looks at Trump's America and sees something so hostile, so lawless, so threatening that he'd rather stay away entirely.

Think about the sheer absurdity of that for a second. We have an American Pope who feels safer not coming to America. A man who leads one of the most powerful institutions on earth looked at this administration and said, "No thank you — I know what you're capable of."

And Trump's team? They threatened the Vatican. The Vatican. Because apparently no institution, no matter how ancient, how respected, or how spiritually significant, is safe from this administration's bullying if it dares to stand in their way.

This isn't politics anymore. This is embarrassment on a biblical scale. The first American Pope is keeping his distance from America — and honestly, who could blame him?

I wonder if she remembered his first steps
while she stood beneath his last

If the sound of the hammer
echoed like the rhythm
of his little feet running toward her

Mama, look

I wonder
if she thought about the first time
he said her name
soft and small
before the world ever called Him Savior

Before crowds
Before miracles
Before the weight of the cross

He was just her boy

The one she carried
The one she held
The one she kissed goodnight

And now—

Now she stands
with empty hands
watching the same hands
that once reached for hers
stretched out on wood

Pierced

I wonder if her heart whispered
This wasn’t how it was supposed to go

Or if somewhere deep within her
she knew…

This was exactly
why He came

Because He was never only her son

He was her Savior too

The same voice that once said
Mama
now speaks forgiveness over the world

The same hands she once wrapped
in cloth
are now bearing the weight
of every sin

And still—

He looks at her

Not just as a King
Not just as a sacrifice

But as her son

And I wonder
if in that moment
her heart broke in two directions

Grieving the boy she raised
and worshiping the God He is

Because what kind of mother
watches her child die
and still calls it holy

What kind of love
stands at the foot of suffering
and doesn’t turn away
