Who's the biggest liar in the room?
Alcohol.
Not because it's always sitting in the corner causing chaos.
Because it rarely looks like a problem when it starts.
It looks like fun.
It looks like confidence.
It looks like taking the edge off.
It looks like fitting in.
It looks like surviving another hard day.
Until one day you realize it wasn't helping you through life. It was helping you avoid it.
And that's what all great liars do.
They don't destroy your life overnight.
They make destruction feel reasonable.
One drink.
One excuse.
One more weekend.
One more year.
I've watched alcohol steal people I love.
I've watched it hollow out families from the inside. I've watched it become the third person in marriages. I've watched people defend it harder than they defend their own dreams.
And the saddest part?
Most people know. Deep down they know. They know the food isn't the problem. They know the alcohol isn't the problem. They know the shopping isn't the problem. They know the scrolling isn't the problem. They know the work obsession isn't the problem.
The problem is what they're trying not to feel.
Because if they stopped numbing, distracting, escaping, drinking, eating, spending, scrolling, or working...they'd have to face themselves.
And that's terrifying.
Especially when you've spent years building a life around avoidance.
The truth is that most people aren't afraid of change. They're afraid of what they'll discover when the noise stops.
But here's what I've learned:
Everything you want is on the other side of the thing you're avoiding.
The peace.
The health.
The confidence.
The relationship.
The freedom.
The self-respect.
The life.
You don't find those things at the bottom of a bottle. You find them the day you stop letting the liar drive.
So today I want to hear from my many brave friends.
The ones who quit drinking.
The ones who got sober.
The ones who left the toxic relationship.
The ones who stopped emotional eating.
The ones who put down the drugs.
The ones who stopped hiding behind work.
The ones who finally faced the thing they'd been running from.
Tell us what life is like on the other side.
Tell us what you gained when you stopped listening to the liar.
So many men and women I talk to think “being healthy” is adding workouts and eating healthy, yet I see alcohol actually destroy their progress over and over again.
Wellness is so much bigger ❤️
