4/29/2026 - Ohio

Yesterday evening I went out to roost a bird I’m hopes to kill one before work. I heard this bird gobble over a dozen times on the limb last night. I got in early this morning and waited for day break. Through intermittent intervals of light rain, this bird came in from a couple hundred yards. Of course he had to loop behind me and then come in from my left while my gun was pointed to the right. At 15 yards he faced away strutting and that was all I needed to swing on him.

Opening Day 2025 in Ohio

After seeing turkeys from a distance all spring, Kade was excited to see one up close. Side note: This is the first turkey I've ever killed that had a tail feather growing backwards.

Took some time off work to find a "Mountain Buck"...Glad I did. One of my biggest bucks ever. Thanks to my Dad for helping me drag this one out. I couldn't have done it without him. Good luck to all of those hunting late-season. Keep your powder dry, shoot straight and be safe. And for those getting ready for spring...it's just around the corner.

Pennsylvania - 5/17/2024

I got to thinking about it, and my Dad and I hadn't Spring Turkey hunted together in a decade. In 2014 he called a gobbler to my gun. This year, I had the opportunity to return the favor. It was a fun couple days I'll never forget.

My Grandpa is 83, and he is still knocking down those PA mountain Gobblers. Had the pleasure of sitting behind him and calling on this hunt. I sure hope I’m still hunting these bird when I’m his age.
