Well summer flew by! Here is the schedule for the LAST week of the season. Monday through Saturday 1-5.

We will have concessions, however since it is the end of the season we will not be restocking things, so when we run out it's out. Thank you all for your support this summer.

Here's the menu for tomorrow. Free will donation set up for food and admission. All proceeds will be going towards the maintenance and repairs of the pool.

Last but not least.

Water balloon toss. Grab a partner and see who can get the furthest without breaking their water balloon. Winning team gets a prize. We will do this as a tournament style competition just like the spong races. $1.00 per team entry. This competition will be roughly starting about 1:30.

How many? Guess how many items are in the tub at the end of the day the closest wins the tub. In case of a tie we will split the winnings. 3 guesses for $1 or .50 for 1 guess.

3rd event of the day is the Sponge Relay! Gard your friends and team up for this event! $1 per team entry.

You and a friend will stand at the bucket and using only a sponge to carry water to the other bucket across the park lawn. The first team to fill the bucket will win the round and move into the final round. Who will be the winning team?

First up duck races!!!!

Who can get their duck across the pool first only using water guns. Each one is named by one of our lifeguards. Who will you choose as your champion??

Come on out Saturday, it's $1 to enter in the duck race! Prizes will be presented for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place!

📣📣 Public Pool Announcement – Summer 2025 🌞

We're excited to welcome you back to the pool for another summer of fun in the sun! Our first day of swimming will be Monday, June 9th, with open swim from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

Please note that due to staffing availability, our pool hours will vary throughout the season. While we are committed to keeping the pool open as much as possible, there will not be a set weekly schedule.

🔹 Here’s what you need to know:

Pool hours will be posted weekly on our page and at the pool entrance.

Daily updates (including closures due to weather, maintenance, or staff shortages) will be posted by 10:00 AM each day.

Be sure to check our page or call ahead before heading to the pool.

🔹 Weather & Delays:

The pool may close temporarily or for the day due to lightning, severe weather, or unsafe conditions.

We may also delay opening or close early depending on weather patterns or staff availability.

We’ll always try to communicate changes as early as possible via our page and at the pool.

🔹 Pool Rules & Reminders:

Children 10 years old and under must be accompanied by an adult who is present at the pool the entire time the child is swimming.

No roughhousing, pushing, dunking, or unsafe behavior will be tolerated.

We enforce a zero-tolerance policy for any misconduct. Inappropriate behavior may result in removal from the pool and/or suspension of privileges.

Respect lifeguards, staff, and fellow swimmers at all times.

Thank you for your support and flexibility as we navigate this summer season. We're looking forward to a fun, safe, and refreshing summer at the pool!

The Sami Jo Memorial Pool will need to have lifeguards for the 2025 season or it may not open. Lifeguard certification is $210 which will be reimbursed at the end of the season if the course is passed and employment as a lifeguard with the City of New Underwood continues through the season. The certification course will be held on May 26 & 27 in Philip, SD. The deadline to register for the course is May 19, 2025, which is quickly approaching. Please go to City Hall to fill out an application. You will be contacted before the deadline to register to set up an interview. PLEASE HELP US GET THE POOL OPEN!!
