I saw a few other coaches and teachers post something similar recently, and thought I’d join in. I do think it’s helpful for golfers to know what we discuss during a lesson, maybe it’s not always what you might think.

Of course, each lesson is built with each specific golfer in mind, but these are common themes and main ideas that appear most often for me.

These are just broad ideas, but if you want to know about them, I’d love to share!⛳️

Spencer came in to address some short range misses with the putter. We talked setup, cleaned up a few things with his stance and posture, then used the Putting Thing from WhyGolf | Premium Golf Training Aids to dial in the start line much more reliably. I don’t use training aids very much, but the putting green is a place they can be very helpful⛳️

Playing at MN National this week for my first Section Championship was a different kind of test. Three things I’m walking away with➡️

Competing at this level doesn’t just make me a better player — it makes me a better coach. Every round like this feeds directly back into what I teach.

A few pics from the last two days MN National Golf Club & Resort for my first Minnesota PGA Professional Championship. The golf was hard this week, but I’m confident I’m working on the right things. Jee Ah Christensen filled the caddy shoes as well as anyone! Onward📈

Solid golf by our players today. Windy, early season conditions are challenging. On we go👊🏼

On a gusty day that lowered just about everyone’s season averages, low and steady led the Sleepy Eye United freshman duo of Nolan Kucera and Anders Coulson to the top.
Kucera, Coulson and Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther senior Gavin Kester all turned in 84s at Mayflower Golf Club on Wednesday, tying for first place individually in the first leg of the Tomahawk-Valley Conference Boys Golf Tournament.
The SEU boys lead the way after Leg 1, followed by Alden-Conger.
