The fan experience at Johnson and Mueller was fueled by the concessions, scoreboard work and PA, but also the hard work you and your volunteers put in.

As we wrap up the 2026 Minnesota American Legion Division I State Tournament, we want to extend our sincere appreciation to the **Sleepy Eye Baseball Association**.

From the moment the first pitch was thrown, your volunteers, fans and community made everyone feel welcome. Your dedication behind the scenes and the pride you take in your ballpark helped create an outstanding experience for the players, coaches and spectators who visited Sleepy Eye.

Thank you for opening your community to the state tournament and for being such an important part of its success. We are grateful for your partnership and look forward to working together again in the future.

Congratulations!

Power at the plate, no errors in the field and a complete-game outing from right-hander Adam Perry was more than enough for the Excelsior Blue to finish the Division I Senior Legion State Baseball Tournament as champions.
The Blue downed the Wayzata Wizards 8-2 on Sunday afternoon at Johnson Park to win the 100th annual state tournament, their first title since 2019.

As the 2026 Minnesota American Legion Division I State Tournament comes to a close, we want to extend a heartfelt **thank you** to the **Springfield Baseball Association** for being an outstanding partner.

From the very beginning, your volunteers, community and beautiful Riverside Park helped make this tournament a first-class experience for our players, coaches and fans. Your willingness to partner with us and your dedication to hosting state tournament baseball did not go unnoticed.

🏆 **Congratulations to Excelsior Senior Legion Blue!** 🏆

Excelsior capped off an outstanding tournament run with an **8-2 victory over Wayzata** on Sunday at historic Johnson Park to capture the **2026 Minnesota American Legion Division I State Championship.**

Congratulations to Excelsior on an incredible regular season, and best of luck as they represent Minnesota at the Central Plains Regional!

🏆 State Championship
🕐 1:00 p.m. – Johnson Park

One team will leave New Ulm as the 2026 Minnesota American Legion Division I State Champion and earn a trip to the Central Plains Regional.

Rain threw our tournament schedule into chaos yesterday, leaving the fields unplayable and forcing us to find another field at the last minute.

The Essig Baseball & Softball Association stepped up without hesitation and helped us keep games moving today. We are incredibly grateful for their support.

This is what makes our local baseball community so special. Thank you Essig Baseball & Softball,! ⚾

🌧️ STATE TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE UPDATE 🌧️

Friday’s rain forced several changes to the Minnesota American Legion 19U Division I State Tournament schedule. While some games were completed, several were postponed and have been rescheduled.

⚾ Friday Night
📍 Springfield (Riverside Park)
7 p.m. – Excelsior Blue vs. Tri-City Maroon

⚾ Saturday Schedule
📍 Essig Field
• 10 a.m. – Elk River vs. Brainerd
• 12:30 p.m. – St. Michael vs. Sartell
• 3 p.m. – Grand Rapids vs. Wayzata Wizards

📍 Johnson Park
• 3:30 p.m. – Farmington Tigers vs. Marshall

📍 Mueller Park
• 3 p.m. – Edina vs. Rochester Redhawks

Because of the weather delays, championship bracket play has also been adjusted, with quarterfinal and semifinal games shifting later into the weekend. Please review the updated bracket for all revised game times.

As of 11:30 AM the games are still postponed indefinitely. However, the state Legion board has canceled two games. Game 21 New Ulm vs. St. Louis Park and game 23 Farmington Red vs. Owatonna have been canceled. Stay tuned for further updates.
