Today we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. 🇺🇸

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend — it is a time to reflect with gratitude on the courage, service, and selflessness of those who gave everything for our country.

As we spend time with family and friends today, may we also pause to remember the heroes whose sacrifices made those moments possible. ❤️🤍💙

“You’re never too old to exercise.” 💪 And at almost 87 years old, Penny is living proof.

After nearly a year at YGT Fitness, Penny has gained greater strength, flexibility, and stability — all while working out alongside her daughter in weekly classes. With personalized modifications and encouragement, she continues to move safely and confidently at every stage. 🙌

An active lifestyle has always been important to Penny, from tennis and walking to completing the 3-mile Jingle Bell Run/Walk last December in under an hour! Now, she continues focusing on healthy aging through strength training, daily movement, stretching, and better nutrition.

Penny is a reminder that it’s never too late to prioritize your health and keep moving forward. 💙

When people hear the word “core,” they often think abs or six-packs — but your core is SO much more than that. 💪

Your core is essentially the center of your body — from your shoulders to your hips — and it’s made up of many muscles working together to support movement, posture, balance, and stability.

Your core helps you:
✔️ stand tall
✔️ sit upright
✔️ move efficiently
✔️ protect your spine
✔️ support your arms and legs during movement

A strong core isn’t just about looks — it’s about function, stability, and helping your body move well through everyday life. 🙌

The better we take care of our core, the better we move, lift, walk, bend, and live.

As Janis approached her 60th birthday, she decided it was time to prioritize her health and become more active. A retired educator, wife of 40 years, mom, and grandmother of two, her biggest goal was simple: keep up with her grandchildren and enjoy every moment with them. 💙

When she started training at YGT Fitness a year ago, she wanted to improve strength, mobility, and confidence — especially being able to get up and down from the floor easily while playing with her grandkids.

Now, one year later, she’s still showing up consistently and accomplishing those goals. 🙌 One of her proudest moments recently came during her annual medical checkups when she could confidently say:

Both are essential for helping the body move well, feel strong, and stay injury-free — but they are not the same thing. 💪🧠

🔹 Stability = your body’s ability to maintain control and support your joints during movement.
🔹 Mobility = your body’s ability to move freely and efficiently.

When stability and mobility are working together properly, movement becomes smoother, safer, and more effective. When they’re out of balance? That’s often when pain, compensation, or injury can happen.

This is one reason assessments are so important before starting a fitness program. Understanding how the body moves helps trainers identify weaknesses, limitations, and areas that need support.

Your body has both stabilizing joints and mobility joints, and they must work together for proper movement patterns. In simple terms:
➡️ strong stabilizers help create safe mobility.

Training isn’t just about getting stronger — it’s about helping your body function better for everyday life. 🙌
