Weekly Update 8/30

Announcements:
- After School Rehearsals both Tuesday and Thursday, this week until 6:30p. Please make sure you are present, properly dressed, and have your water bottle. After School Rehearsals are required for all marching band members. Competitions are just a few short weeks away!

- Away Game @ Happy Valley this Fri, 8/28. Band members are required to stay for the entire game. Only CURRENT band members are allowed in the band section of the stands. Pre-Game meal will be provided to students before we leave for the game.

- Wendy's community night this Monday, 8/31 from 5-8p. Volunteers needed to hand out flyers during those hours. Come have dinner and support the band!

Make sure you are staying healthy (washing hands, not eating/drinking after one another, etc). It is important that we have EVERYONE at each rehearsal, performance and competition.

Students will be required to put away all equipment and uniforms before being dismissed for the evening. Please be patient and flexible with ending and arrival times.

On game and competition days, director communication will be extremely limited, as the focus should be on the band and their upcoming performance. All call times for games/competitions can be found in this email, band website, and on the band social media sites.

To allow time for the small chance of rain to pass, this Friday’s (8/28) game will begin at 7:30pm, instead of 7pm as originally scheduled. Please see the graphic for the NEW updated game schedule and times. As always, arrival times back to Claiborne are approximate. Students will call for their ride when we are 30 minutes away from our return home.

Weekly Update 8/23/26

Announcements:
- After School Rehearsals both Tuesday and Thursday, this week until 6:30p. Please make sure you are present, properly dressed, and have your water bottle. After School Rehearsals are required for all marching band members. Competitions are fast approaching!

- Away Game @ Volunteer this Fri, 8/28. Band members are required to stay for the entire game. Members will have a 3rd quarter break to visit the concession stand, but must return for the 4th quarter, as we play through the end of the game. Only CURRENT band members are allowed in the band section of the stands.

- As of this update, this Friday’s game will begin at 7p. There is a possibility the game could be moved to 7:30p. If this were to happen, call, departure, and dinner times would remain the same. All other times, including arrival home, would be 30 minutes later. If the times were to change, you will be notified ASAP.

Make sure you are staying healthy (washing hands, not eating/drinking after one another, etc). It is important that we have EVERYONE at each rehearsal, performance and competition.

The Blue Battalion is back on the field! Although the game didn’t end the way we hoped, we’re still loud and proud for Claiborne! We also want to give an extra special shout out to the Claiborne Band Boosters for all the work to keep the concessions running!

To allow time for the weather to clear up, tonight’s game time has been moved back 30 minutes. Call Time and Warm Up will remain the same, but all other times will be 30 minutes later. Please see below for this evening’s new game schedule.

- For the safety of our student performers, only CURRENT band members, staff, and directors are allowed in the band section of the stands and in the band room before/after the game. Please help us keep our students safe by adhering to these guidelines.

- Volunteers needed to help with the concession stand at our home football games. This is a major fundraiser for the band that only requires a few hours on a Friday night.

- After School Rehearsals begin this week and will continue each Tues and Thurs after school, until 6:30p After School Rehearsals are REQUIRED for all marching band members.

- Band Pool Party, New Tazewell Pool, Thursday 8/13 @ 5:30p
For this date ONLY, practice will end at 5:15p to accommodate for the pool party. This event is not required, but participation is encouraged.

Make sure you are staying healthy (washing hands, not eating/drinking after one another, etc). It is important that we have EVERYONE at each rehearsal, performance and competition.

Announcements:
- Volunteers needed to help with the concession stand at our home football games. This is a major fundraiser for the band that only requires a few hours on a Friday night. Email [email protected] to volunteer.

- Students: if band is not on your schedule, please be aware that schedules are not finalized and it will be added in the coming days. Even if band is not presently on your schedule, you are still required to attend all band activities, as it will be added.
