What a wonderful event our Social Committee put on tonight at Artists' Workshop NSB! President Connie Miller and President Elect Anne Mlod shared an engaging presentation on their trip to Taiwan for the Rotary International Convention in June.

Most of the food was made by Charles Miller and it was delicious!

Many thanks to Cayla Bartolucci-Kaualoku, Executive Director of Artists’ Workshop for not only offering the space but setting up tables and chairs for us! Great job Social Committee, led by TL Nelson!

Tuesday's meeting featured four member spotlights - new members Capt. Ashley Barnett, Helen Leong and Melissa Chesley - and Sergeant-at-Arms Dan Thatcher, who has a been a member for a year.

Capt. Ashley, who has one daughter, talked about her work helping people learn more about boating and enjoying the local waterways.

Helen shared her experiences living in New York City, working in computing and raising three sons.

Melissa, who is affiliate vice president at Southeast Volusia Habitat for Humanity, has worked in accounting at several nonprofits and has five children.

Dan, who has four children and currently works at the Seahorse Inn, recounted the variety of jobs he's held over the years in sales and the hospitality industry (and shared the fact that he lives karaoke!)

Anne Mlod and Karen LaRue gave updates on sponsorships and auction donations for our upcoming Cheeseburger fundraiser. Club Social Chair TL Nelson and Community Service Chair Hannah Scharff also discussed upcoming activities. What a great club we have!

One evening of great food, live music, and fun helps feed families, supports children, cares for animals, protects our environment and changes lives throughout our community!

Their winner last year consisted of ground chuck and brisket grilled to perfection, topped with blue cheese, bacon, and their signature Frankenstein sauce; we can’t wait to see what they come up with this year!!

What a great first club meeting of the year under President Connie Miller! Rotary District 6970 Governor Elect Ed Lombard inducted three new members today - welcome Helen, Ashley, and Melissa!

Our speaker was Professor Robert Bledsoe who gave a fascinating talk on the history of our country’s Constitution and Declaration of Independence. We also welcomed four of our scholarship recipients, who shared their college plans and expressed appreciation for our support.

Rotarian TL Nelson’s inspirational message was a quote from Maya Angelou: "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel."
