Tried our luck with the late model at Auburndale again last night. There was a big field with lots of good cars. Qualifying was decent and clocking in 12th out of the 22 cars.
First race started 12th and got a right front flat on lap 6. Came in and had to put on an old tire to finish the race. Restarted 20th and was able to pass a lot of cars but just gettin in the wrong lane on the restarts and having to pass them all again. Kept battling and finished 9th.
Second race we had high hopes after finishing with good speed in race 1. Started 9th and got up to 6th by lap 18 and got dumped by the car behind. The driver was not willing to “tap” and admit it was his fault so we both got sent to the rear. After that, just kept being in the wrong place at the wrong time and getting used up a lot. With 10 laps to go, was hard racing and the car behind made contact with the left rear which sent him over the roof and hood and knocking off most of the body.
