I was a senior at NSBHS in Mrs. Meirings psychology class when we turned on the news. I got home and the ‘house phone’ rang and it was my Uncle Mike calling to tell my sister and I that he was safe. He was on Long Island judging a surf contest that week, the surf was pumping that morning on the south shore of Long Beach. The surfers in the lineup saw the smoke and everyone came in to see what was happening, calling their loved ones, and seeing which one of their friends went to work in the city that day instead of paddling out.

He told me that the waves were so good that loads of locals skipped work to surf, and the swell likely saved tons of surfers lives. I’ll never forget that day or that phone call, and never forget those we lost on 9/11 🪽🙏🏼🇺🇸🌊🪽

Thanks to America’s small business owners, tradespeople, teachers, laborers, parents, and everyone who puts in the work every day.

After the beach today we will TOAST to early mornings, long days, chasing the dream and never being afraid to get your hands dirty 🇺🇸 🌊

Welcome to Surf n’ Sweat! A 2-hour experience combining surfing, fitness, and guided yoga/stretching with sun salutations to finish each day.

3-Day Experience: $225
Daily Drop-In: $100

Bring your own board or use equipment we provide. No matter your age or experience level, you’ll fit right in! From “never surfed before” to “it’s been awhile” we curate the surfing to the individual surfer.
