Today is a day my family will never forget. My dad, Daniel, our entire family, and everyone involved with Race to Stop Su***de and 71 MVP Inc. we get to sponsor the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Kansas Speedway. And the message we brought with us was su***de awareness, prevention, hope, and mental health.
This isn't new for us. Su***de awareness has been a deeply personal part of Daniel's journey, and it's been on his race car since he started racing full-sized cars. My dad and Daniel have spent years traveling across the country, talking to groups, sharing with communities from every walk of life, for one reason: to remind people they are not alone, there is hope, and their lives matter.
I don't think any of us imagined when this started that we'd one day be sharing this message on a national stage, during a nationally televised race. It's emotional. It's humbling. And it shows how far this mission has come.
This is so much bigger than racing. It's the lives we might reach, the conversations we might start, the stigma we might break, and the person who might find the strength to keep going because they know someone out there cares.
To everyone who has supported Race to Stop Su***de and 71 MVP Inc., stood with our family, shared our message, helped carry this forward, thank you.
Please remember, you are not alone. Your life matters. There is help, there is hope, and tomorrow can be different.
Check on your friends. Call your family. Ask the hard questions. Listen without judgment. You never really know what someone is carrying, and sometimes the smallest thing can make the biggest difference.
Nothing is ever so bad that you have to face it alone. There is always hope.
Let's keep showing up for each other, breaking the silence, and reminding the world that su***de prevention is everyone's responsibility.
