We’re all about making e-biking SAFE, FUN, and something our whole community can enjoy!

We’d love for our PedegoNSB customers, friends, and fellow riders to come out and support us as we continue to promote safe riding, responsible e-bike use, and having a GREAT time on two wheels.

Ride Safe. Ride Smart. Ride Happy. 🚲💛

E-bikes and other electric devices have become a growing topic of conversation in New Smyrna Beach, particularly when it comes to safety on our streets, sidewalks, and busy areas like Flagler and Canal.

At our August meeting, I asked the Commission to slow this process down before adopting new rules. This is a significant issue, and I believe we need to fully understand the implications, hear from the people who will be affected, and make sure we’re addressing the right problems.

That conversation continues Tuesday evening.

🚲 E-Bike & Micromobility Public Workshop
📅 Tuesday, September 29
⏰ 5:00 pm
📍 Commission Chambers @ 214 Sams Ave.

City staff will provide a presentation followed by an opportunity for questions and public input.

Whether you ride an e-bike, walk our sidewalks, drive our streets, own a local business, or simply have concerns about how these devices are being used, I encourage you to come out, listen, ask questions, and share your perspective.

This is exactly why we take the time to have public workshops: to hear from you before we make decisions that affect our community.

What a ride! 🚲☀️💛

Another awesome PedegoNSB group ride filled with sunshine, smiles, good conversation, and plenty of FUN! There’s just something about getting out on the bikes together that makes a great day even better. 😎

A huge THANK YOU to Bee Fly Grab N Go Cafe for hosting us afterward! ☕️🥐 We loved hanging out, grabbing some delicious food and drinks, and keeping the good times going after the ride.

We’re already looking forward to the next one! 🚲💨

Ride. Laugh. Explore. Repeat. 💛

CARE FOR THE BATTERY.
PLAN FOR THE FUN.
Battery life is measured over months and years. Range is measured one ride at a time. Better
habits support both.
• Use only the approved charger.
• Charge in a dry, room-temperature area and stay present.
• Protect the battery from prolonged heat, cold, and moisture.
• Keep tires at an approved pressure.
• Plan hills, wind, cargo, speed, and assist with a practical reserve.

California friends and neighbors,

It's important to advocate for e-bikes and ensure they are not unfairly penalized due to issues related to e-motorcycles. I encourage you to take a moment to review this simple CalBike fact sheet, which includes key details and a form to contact your local legislator.

Thank you in advance for your support!

Electric bicycles are already clearly defined under state and federal law. But increasingly, high-powered “e-motos” — often exceeding 750 watts and capable of motorcycle-level speeds are being marketed and sold as “e-bikes,” especially to youth. SB 1167 draws a clear line. It protects legi...

California's Attorney General has taken a commendable stance by highlighting the risks and legal implications associated with higher-powered and faster electric motorcycles, while also recognizing the value of compliant e-bikes. This approach not only supports responsible brands and retailers but also promotes safe riding practices for consumers. By addressing these issues, California sets a positive example for the nation, ensuring that innovation in the electric mobility sector aligns with safety and compliance standards. https://lnkd.in/eVPe2p4p
